Position:  Project Co-ordinator cum administrator (full time)

Summary of position: To be responsible for general office administration and provide co-ordination support to on-going projects. 

Responsibilities:

Administration

• To ensure correspondence and documents are filed appropriately.
• To prepare reports and minutes, order office supplies and attend to visitors.
• To keep inventory of products and manage sales.
• To update organisation website and facebook.

Project co-ordination

• To support on-going projects in terms of logistics and publicity
• To track project milestones, budgets and prepare status reports.  
• To co-ordinate between various stakeholders involved in the project such as suppliers, local community, volunteers and consultants. 
• To lead and drive projects where appropriate in terms of planning and implementation.
•  To manage project social media sites where relevant.
•  To undertake other special assignments, ad-hoc functions and related duties as and when required. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Education, History, Arts, Social Sciences or Mass Communications or related experience 
• Good inter-communication skills with people of various backgrounds
• Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• A team player with positive attitude and a passion for people and culture
• Enjoys field work and willing to work flexi hours and week ends.
• Savvy social media and computer skills.

藝術教育協會融入指導 孩子們 來把社區變好

藝術教育協會（Arts-ED）不久前在利華路人民組屋完成了第一個階段的社區活動《我的雙溪檳榔》。共有45名來自兩座組屋的青少年參加。這是繼喬治市與浮羅山背社區計劃后，該協會的另一項全新計劃，也是他們未來三年內全心投入的計劃。

計劃協調員曾玉萍受訪時說，藝術教育協會近年來的工作內容以古跡為主，以學生為對象的社區教育計劃反而少了。《我的雙溪檳榔》是他們重新出發的第一步，在未來三年裡，社區藝術教育將重新成為他們的工作重心。

她說，要重拾社區藝術教育工作不容易。他們得重新討論和設置內容、尋找有心協助的藝術家，提供培訓、鑒定合適的社區、找到肯參與的孩子等。這些前期工作耗費很多人力物力。

關心垃圾課題

參與此次計劃的孩子們，所關心的主要議題是垃圾。當地衛生情況並不好，很多居民亂拋垃圾，包括把垃圾從高樓丟下。孩子們在公共空間玩耍時，也常常擔心被垃圾丟中。

社區藝術教育如果只做一次是沒用的，唯有持續分階段進行，才能讓參與的孩子有所改變。《我的雙溪檳榔》雖然已舉辦過結業禮，但不代表就此結束。藝術教育協會接下來的工作，是與當地居民會協商，如何把孩子們對社區的期待變成真實。至于其他形式則有待確定。

《我的雙溪檳榔》也與該協會之前開展的兩項社區計劃不同。在喬治市與浮羅山背的社區計劃中，他們針對整個社區的孩子。而在雙溪檳榔，而只是在利華路組屋展開。

她說，他們希望從一個比較小的社區做起，可以看到比較明顯的效果。

通過遊戲拉近族群距離

參與社區計劃者來自各族小孩，要打破他們之間因種族差異而存在的隔閡，是一件考智慧的事。曾玉萍說，他們在社區計劃當中無法完全消除這些孩子的種族觀念，但他們提供這些孩子機會，讓他們認識另一個族群。

她說，在孩子的世界裡其實沒有強烈的種族觀念，他們的觀念來自大人們的灌輸。這些年齡介于10歲至16歲的孩子，帶著各自深淺不一的種族觀念到來。

她說，其實造成隔閡的不只是種族，還包括年齡與文化背景。同一族群的不同文化背景孩子，溝通上也會遇到嚴重問題。還有一些早當家的孩子，雖還在上學但已打工賺錢來幫補家用，他們跟其他沒有社會經驗的同齡孩子也會有距離。

他們常常通過遊戲來拉近彼此之間的距離，當然在設計這些遊戲時，必須對不同文化有高度敏感，避免觸犯不同文化的禁忌。

规定小朋友完成10次課程

決定在雙溪檳榔展開社區計劃之前，藝術教育協會也曾經前往其他社區做調查，包括五條路海墘、山竹園人民組屋、吉打路組屋和姓氏橋。最后他們選了利華路人民組屋。

曾玉萍說，他們會先了解這些社區的居民屬于社會哪一個階層以及當地的生活文化。例如在五條路海墘組屋，他們發現下樓的孩子多數有大人陪著，很少看到小孩子獨自下樓。

他們還發現下午四五點鐘，本來應該是小孩子外出玩耍的時間，草場上卻只有幾名男生在踢球。其他的小孩子究竟在做甚么呢？

她說，他們是通過檳島市政局在利華路組屋推行“性別回應預算案”社區投票活動，而找到進入該社區的機會。他們發現，利華路組屋有許多三三兩兩跑出來玩耍的孩子，他們沒有被父母管得太緊，因此可以自由在組屋範圍內玩耍。

在上述不同社區走訪的結果，利華路組屋居民給予的反應最令人鼓舞，最后他們選擇了那裡。

雖然是免費的社區活動，但藝術教育協會在執行上有嚴格要求。他們要參與的小孩們一定要參加總共10次的課程，如果無法承諾就別參加。

此次參加者有45名孩子，其實初來的孩子有更多，只是一些無法承諾不缺席而決定退出。當然，那些承諾不缺席的孩子，在過程中也常常有狀況出現，包括家長也不大重視孩子的出席率。協調員必須做很多輔導與跟進。

創意藝術打破隔閡

藝術教育協會一直把藝術當成社區教育的理想“工具”。因為藝術是中性的，不論來自哪個種族、文化、宗教、教育背景的人，都可以通過藝術的手段學習。

曾玉萍說，來自不同背景的人要走在一起做同一件事是很困難的。如果使用的是各自熟悉的語言，大家根本無法溝通。如果使用某一民族的語言，也會有人覺得有隔閡。

她說，唯有使用創意藝術的方法，才能讓大家打破隔閡，真正在一起做同一件事。藝術是中性的，任何背景的人都可以融入其中。

她說，該協會的社區計劃，對象都是各族孩子。在設計活動內容和方法時，一定不可以帶有某一種族的色彩。其他地區的經驗也證明了創意藝術的好處。

歡迎藝術家加入

《我的雙溪檳榔》計劃得到3名藝術家參與，義務指導孩子們的攝影、肢體動作與建築塑方面的創意。要當這些孩子的導師並不容易，除了基本培訓，還必須經過實踐，才能知道所設計出來的課程內容和遊戲有沒有效果。

曾玉萍說，他們很重視與孩子之間的互動。導師不能向孩子們講解一種遊戲后，就讓他們自己去玩。導師必須一步一步引導，讓孩子接受遊戲，同時了解為甚么要玩該遊戲。

雖然他們有提供事前的訓練，不過這並不足夠。在實際與孩子接觸的過程中，還是常常要做調整。而且要讓這些孩子專注不是件容易的事，在過程中他們很容易受到周邊其他事物吸引。導師會消耗許多精神和體力，因此一些導師需要協調員從旁幫忙。

他們從多年的社區工作經驗中，總結出一些與不同階層孩子相處的方法。不過在每次接觸新的孩子之后，還是必須做調整。每一次的社區工作都是一次全新挑戰。

他們歡迎不同領域的藝術家成為導師。雖然任務不簡單，不過曾玉萍說，最重要的條件是必須有心和擁有正確態度，再接受基本培訓后，接下來他們會在實踐過程中協助，也會有協調員幫忙。

她說，任何領域的藝術家他們都歡迎，也未必一定要很傑出的藝術家。一些很傑出者，卻未必是懂得藝術教育。參與的藝術家，必須有心把自己所懂的，用創意的方式傳授給學生。

（檳城30日訊）愛護社區從孩子做起！繼《城市小孩》及《我的浮羅山背》計劃後，社區文化藝術教育組織（Arts-ED）再展開另一項青少年計劃:《我的雙溪檳榔》，地點不再是古蹟區或生態旅遊區，而是走入人民組屋實施公民教育。
這次他們以利華律人民組屋為起點，通過創意工作坊引導10歲至16歲少年認識住家環境，明白雜亂環境可以改變，改變由自己開始。

高空飛石曾砸死人

15歲的阿麗莎在利華律人民組屋長大，她說，組屋環境雜亂骯髒，居民欠缺公德心，想起2年前的高空飛石砸死老漢案，她仍心有餘悸。平日除了學校外就是呆在家裡最安心。參加“我的雙溪檳榔”社區計劃，除了打開對住家社區的迷思，也希望用照片告訴大人們，停止破壞居家衛生。

對社區欠缺安全感的阿麗莎原本不願意踏出家門，接觸其他社區內的孩子。她說，在她印象中，他們常蹓躂鬧事。但在補習老師鼓勵下，她參與了工作坊的攝影組。

短短半個月內她認識了活潑積極的阿米拉，發現社區內的孩子沒有想像般糟糕。兩人一起帶著年齡較小的孩子，在導師指引下拍下自己認為最骯髒的地方、可以玩耍的地方及只有孩子才知道的秘密角落。

阿麗莎與阿米拉都認為公用垃圾桶是最髒的地方，答案很理所當然，但解釋卻令人意外：垃圾桶最骯髒，因為桶內是空的，垃圾全在桶外！

阿米拉說，很多人是把垃圾“拋”向垃圾桶，但往往拋不進去，而更嚴重的是，這些人好像不怎麼在意。

空垃圾桶外全是垃圾

大人眼中不值一提的丟垃圾行為，在小孩看來卻如此不可思議。至於可玩耍的地方，則包括兒童遊樂場、組屋走廊、候電梯處、樓梯間及家裡。阿麗莎指出，由於高空擲物問題，組屋許多空地皆屬危險區，在家長警告下小孩都不敢靠近，兒童遊樂場也是在裝置閉路電視後才成為安全區。

阿麗莎之後帶領記者去看只有孩子才知道的“秘密樂園”，是組屋後方遭拆除到一半就長久空置的屋子。她說，許多孩子白天都喜歡在那裡玩耍，但這裡並不安全，一不小心會玻璃誶或木材刺傷，也不懂殘留的牆壁幾時倒下，晚上就成為道友聚集處。

“我就從來不會去那裡。”
阿麗莎與記者一起經過組屋樓下後方停車場時，一再叮囑記者不要離組屋太近，因為“很危險”，常有車頂被高空硬物砸壞，她爸爸的車子都不敢停在那裡。
